Operate app health before users report it
Set up monitoring, alert delivery, incident recovery, and verification.
Health is the live operating desk for a SaaS. It brings uptime, real-user performance, incidents, alerts, backups, and API defense into one decision surface so your first signal comes from evidence—not from a frustrated customer. Use it to turn an alert into a short, owned recovery loop.
Start with health desk
Open Health to understand current user impact and the next action. The desk groups active incident signals with recent deployments and ongoing monitoring. When something is red, investigate the connected evidence first instead of treating a status color as the diagnosis.
A calm green dashboard is also useful: it establishes the current baseline before a release or provider change.
Configure uptime monitors
In Uptime monitors, add public endpoints and choose a cadence appropriate for the app. Monitor the homepage, a core API route, and any public callback or status endpoint whose absence breaks the customer experience. Monitoring detects availability and latency changes; it is not a substitute for a browser journey that signs in or completes a payment.
Route alerts with intent
Use Alert delivery to send actionable incidents to Slack, email, Discord, or a webhook. Route urgent customer-impacting conditions to a channel people watch; keep lower-priority warnings visible in the dashboard. Test a channel once, then review delivery history when an alert is missed or noisy.
Close incidents with proof
Open Incidents & fixes to assign the response, use the recovery guidance, and document the correction. Rerun the relevant monitor, audit, or journey after the fix. The issue should close only when the evidence is green again. Pair this with real-user speed, backup integrity, and API defense as the product grows.
